What have we been up to???

We are very excited about all of the progress that has been made over the last couple of months. We continue to work for an even better response system going forward. Some of the needs and plans are listed below.

Illinois
  • Welcome new SEPR/ State Emergency Preparedness Representative: Pat Kirchoff – Normal, IL
  • Prayer Blocks needing to be filled to cover our Illinois Northern and southern areas
  • North Central Chicago Area getting Salvation Army and Touch of Aglow information at Seminar in McHenry, IL on July 11, 2009 (see upcoming events and flyer)
  • New Emergency Preparedness “Tips” starting in July
  • Had Psychological First Aid Training in June - from the American Red Cross
  • Illinois has had a lot of flooding problem – but most of them have gone unreported . . .
  • Chicago North - Emergency Preparedness Talk July 11, 2009  (See flyer) McHenry, IL Roberta & Pat will be sharing on the Salvation Army and its classes & Touch of Aglow/Disaster Relief Network workings.
  • Meetings with Steve and Jan Eddington of IHOP in Bloomington.  We were conversing on networking with the focus of prayer for our neighborhoods, cities and state.  If we use our network, and map out the State of Illinois – we can set up prayer cells that would begin to protect, enhance and strengthen our state and our leaders.
  • Beginning to implement the Communications Network
  • Continued work on the Touch of Aglow. com  website
  • Prayer over state for wisdom in focus – We believe the Lord is leading us to “Focus Central” . . .
  • Working on Salvation Army “Chaplaincy” Program
  • American Red Cross Class: Psychological First Aid Class being held May 9, 2009
  • Needing  2 - State Emergency Preparedness Representatives

 

 
Iowa

    • Welcome new SEPR/ State Emergency Preparedness Representative: Karen Linhart – New Virginia, IA
    • Prayer Blocks needed to be filled to cover the Iowa North and South Areas
    • New Touch of Aglow/Disaster Relief Conference being worked on at this time – let us know your availability J
    • New Emergency Preparedness “Tips” starting in July
    • Iowa has had much flooding – some of which we were able to check on – they are needing more information on our TOA/DR Networking abilities J
    • Welcome to new SPC/State Prayer Coordinator: Deb Illiff
    • Planning for Emergency Preparedness Touch of Aglow Info Conference already enprocess – let us hear your availability . . .
    ·        Meeting with the Iowa Reformation Council has opened up several contacts.

    ·         Possible connections with IHOP chapters

    ·         Needing prayer for SPC replacement – Kerry Hadley has stepped down

    ·         Praying over 1 SEPR and needing 1 more

Minnesota

 
  • Welcome new SEPR’s/ State Emergency  Preparedness Representatives: Angela Tonsager and Carolyn Alberts  - both of Mn Metro Area.
  • Minnesota has begun a new Task Force in Mn Metro Area.  They have made great strides in getting their areas set up for emergency situations. They have even found some Emergency Preparedness Field Assistants – the first in our Region!!  Welcome!  I will have the names as soon as I can J

Wisconsin

 

    • Welcome new SEPR’s / State Emergency Preparedness Representatives: Lisa Streets – Slinger, Wi  and Sandy Yaroch of Beaver Dam, WI
    • Wisconsin has had 3 major Emergency situations – a flash flooding situation, a huge Chemical Fire and a Meat-packing Plant Fire.  All 3 were reported thru the Aglow Disaster Relief Network in one form or another.  We have a lot to learn, but it is at least finally causing us to work together for the good of our Aglow members! YES!
    • Touch of Aglow Information Release – Southern WI -  Sept. 12 - TBA
    • Touch of Aglow Information Release – Northern WI – Sept 26 – TBA

    ·         Beginning to implement the Communications network

    ·         Praying over 1 SEPR – needing 1 more

    ·         Checking into avenues of Response for  trained Professional Rescuers in the state

    ·         Possible Emergency Preparedness class / CPR and First Aid

All 4 states in our North Central Region have had severe flood damage resulting in actual Disaster Decrees.  Please let us know what Prayer, Praise and Worship blocks you would like to fill to help get our North Central Region covered in Prayer.  Many have filled their Areas – some need to give us an email or a call . . .  The more prayer we get the more answers we will receive J
